Discontinued Items

I manage the pricelist for all of our account managers. I'm often asked to add a new item to the database, then plug in all the info and hit save...only to find that the item already exists and is discontinued.

I would like the option of being able to set the layout so that discontinued items are normally displayed on the list of products without having to set the quick filter each time I start the app. Seems like a fairly simple code change.
