Project File IDs

Projects have project numbers, tasks have task numbers, components have component IDs. Would it help some businesses to have file ids?

Here two features would be needed:

1. Ability to set files category for specific usergroups. Example, the purchase manager would not be able to access any files under category Visio/CAD/Dwg. Similarly if there are proposal.pdfs in category Proposals, or Sales, the designer might not have access to files in that category.

2. Once that feature is in place, the next feature is having a field related to these files, file Number or ID. How it can help is, some companies, would be able to store quote numbers, bill number, drawing numbers etc and sort of can track them too. like component ID, the user can say all CAD dwg will be numbered as ProjectNumber-CAD-### and any files added will follow that.

Would be even more better if the revision of files are also tracked.
