D-Tools System Integrator Ideas Portal
We have been subcontracted to do the engineering documents for multiple projects for another AV integrator. Several of these projects have multiple rooms (first project is 17 nearly identical conference rooms), and the integrator wants the schematics, floor plans, elevations for all rooms to be in one drawing file. We cannot easily do that with D-Tools because it doesn't allow duplicate component IDs.
We have worked around this in the past by prepending a Room name/ID to the Component ID, but that is tedious work and not viable for 17 rooms - especially for rooms that have many components.
What we need is for each location/sublocation to have its own "scope" within the database.
