The ability to generate labels without imputing a serial number for warehouse tracking

Having the ability to generate labels for inventory items without needing an identifier number or serial number. Currently you can only generate labels if you have a serial number. Failing to supply a serial number will allow you to generate and print a label but the system will perpetually flag and send notifications for items without a serial number.

This would be helpful to people whole sell products and devices that don't have serial numbers attached but want to keep up with warranties on those items.

You could create your own serial number (Identifying number) but that would technically be incorrect and would have to keep up with which items have an internal identifying number and those that don't.

What I propose is that we could add fields to the inventory check in or build in a field for internal service tags or identifier numbers. As a tech company we place a silver sticker on all of our devices with an internal service tag number. This way we can trace the device internally and keep up with warranties, maintenance and replacements across multiple addresses across multiple states. This way, internally, we can find any item we have installed.
