Archive - Expired Service Plans

How do we archive service plans and service orders that are passed? The filter system is lacking, as when multiple filters are applied. So how can I negate looking through service plans and orders that have happened (in time, ie end date). I see there is a lock service plan feature, that's okay as it adds a little icon to say it's locked and prevents it from being edited, but I'd rather it just wasn't there unless I chose to look at last year's service plans. It is already there in Projects as a option. Why not in Service?
