Current setup:
Our Labor Items are configured to use "Use cost and price from labor type" (not Fixed, not "Use specific cost and price"). Pricing is centrally managed on the Labor Type level (Base Labor Cost/Hr and Price/Hr in Control Panel > Labor Types).
The gap:
We regularly need to apply a project-specific discount percentage to labor items, visible internally (for margin tracking) but hidden from the client-facing proposal — exactly how the Discount field already works for Products.
However:
Labor Price Rules can only target Fixed Cost, Fixed Price, Fixed Margin, Fixed Markup, Unit Cost, Unit Price, Margin, or Markup as Destination fields — the Discount field is not an available option.
Bulk-editing the Discount field directly on Labor Items is only possible when the item uses a Fixed price — not when it uses "cost and price from labor type," which is our standard configuration.
Request:
Please add support for either:
Adding "Discount" / "Discount Percentage" as a Destination field option within Labor Price Rules, so a percentage discount can be applied in bulk to Labor Items on a per-project basis without changing their underlying Labor Type pricing structure; or
Allowing bulk-edit of the Discount field on Labor Items configured with "Use cost and price from labor type," the same way it already works for Fixed-price items.
This would let us keep centralized Labor Type pricing (with markups applied at the Labor Type level) while still being able to apply variable, project-specific discounts that remain visible internally but excluded from client-facing reports — the same workflow we already use for Products.
